Healthy and clean living doesn’t have to be expensive. It can be cost effective and practical, even for larger families. Here I’m sharing of my favorite recipes for my family and the most pickiest of eaters! As a mom to a special needs child and 5 very different kids with very unique personalities, I have found that trying to satisfy everyone is a real struggle when it comes time to meal plan. I think the biggest struggle that I hear from parents is that their kids will only eat certain foods, so parents get tired of trying and just give in to unhealthy eating habits because it just seems easier. While that can be true, our children only know the foods that they have have been presented over their lifetimes and that starts directly in the home. If your child or entire family for that matter are extra picky, have selective diets, and it’s a struggle to make them all happy, than we just have to start to “reprogram” their palates to start to crave food that will be nourishing to their bodies, minds, and daily well-being. Other times I find that parents are just completely unaware of the repercussions that a bad diet can have on day to day behaviors, moods, and overall development . It takes time and a heck of a lot of patience, but it can be done! It will never be 100% perfect, so don’t bother trying. Start with one meal at a time, maybe even only introducing one small healthy meal or snack a day, or even once a week for that matter. Baby steps count too!! Instilling a healthy mindset into our children is one of the most important duties we have as a parent. Start somewhere, start small, and start now!
